Let’s go fishin folks! Schools of Black Drum have invaded Tampa Bay. Larger Drum can be seen hovering around dock slips with deep bottoms. Schools of smaller Black Drum in the legal slot and bag limit regulations can be found mixed in with other species such as Sheepshead. Most action will be found on oyster beds and troughs falling from rocky areas. Both sizes of these drum will eat crustaceans of many kinds including crabs, shrimp and sand fleas. The smaller fish are not quite as picky as the bigger ones.
These fish march to the beat of a different drum. They are a great fight and taste awesome! Come have a wonderful month of explosive fishing.
