Captain Rocky
Captain Rocky is an inshore fishing guide for Tampa fishing Charters, Inc. He is a Florida native and was born and raised in Tampa. He gets his name from his great great grandfather who was nicknamed Rocky because he used to skip school and fish Rocky Point when he was a kid growing up. Fishing has been in Rocky’s blood for many generations and Rocky has been able to learn the Tampa Bay fishing estuary from his family that has been fishing it for many years. Rocky was born and raised in South Tampa on the water and learned how to fish at a very young age in his backyard. When his parents saw his passion for fishing when he was very young they bought him a canoe and let him start fishing the local canals in his backyard. Ever since then Rocky has never put down the fishing rod and is now able to share that experience with others. Rocky loves sharing his passion for fishing with other people and teaching people about our fishing estuary that Tampa Bay has to offer. Ever since he was a kid he loved to target the game fish that Tampa Bay has to offer. Whether it’s the thump that you feel through the rod when a Snook inhales a Pilchard or the screaming drag from a Redfish. The feeling of excitement never gets old to him. As he progressed in his fishing years he learned to investigate some of the deeper waters that Tampa Bay has to offer. In doing so he has managed to come across a lot of reefs and shipwrecks that hold species of fish that you do not often find in the shallow water estuary. Some of those fish include our Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Tarpon, Grouper, sharks, Sheep Head, and Snapper. Whether it be catching bait as the sun is coming up in the morning or the clients expressions and smiles on their face as they get pictures of some of the beautiful fish that we have to offer or the feel of a knife slicing through the back of a fish as it is being filleted at the cleaning table. His experience from start to finish of your trip will be an adventure you never forget.
