Three tips to improve your winter fishing experience. First, let’s talk hardware! The jig head is my favorite, the reason is…. it keeps the hook and the bait stationary when cold fish don’t want to move far for their meal. The size of the jig head depends on the flow of current, and or the application (on bottom or suspended).
Tip #2 – is a cork, float, or bobber. Simply put, I like to use a cork high up to keep the jig head suspended. Determine the depth you want to fish in the water column and adjust the float accordingly. Bonus Tip #3 – Straight and tight fishing lines will catch more fish!!
